Grégoire Ndjaka has been the Chief Executive Officer of the African Union of Broadcasting (AUB) since January 2016. He is a senior journalist with 31 years of professional experience. He previously worked as the Director of Human Resources of Cameroon Radio Television (CRTV), where he was the primary advisor to the Director General and Deputy Director of Cooperation. Ndjaka graduated from the Advanced School of Information Science (Yaoundé-Cameroon). He is also a fellow at the Japan Foundation. He holds two master’s degrees in human rights and humanitarian emergencies and project management, both from the Catholic University of Central Africa. He is a Knight in the National Order of Value in his country and a member of several professional organisations.

Abdoulie Sey is the Director General of Gambia Radio and Television Services (GRTS), the national public broadcaster. A dedicated media professional and seasoned journalist, Mr. Sey has been with GRTS since 2007, rising through the ranks from Assistant Producer to Producer, Senior Producer, Principal Producer, Managing Editor, Editor-in-Chief, and Director of News and Current Affairs before assuming his current leadership role.

A Chevening Scholar, Mr. Sey holds a Master’s degree in International Multimedia Journalism from the University of Kent, United Kingdom. Rev. Ing. Edmund Yirenkyi Fianko, the Director General of the National Communications Authority (NCA), is an electronic communications engineer with over twenty (20) years of expertise in radio frequency spectrum management, telecom and broadcasting regulation, policy formulation, change management, ICT industry research, writing, publishing, teaching, and public speaking.

In 2022, he was elected to the prestigious Radio Regulations Board (RRB) by Member countries of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) to serve the global radiocommunications community for a four-year term (2023–2026).

Since joining the NCA as a National Service Person in 2004, Rev. Ing. Fianko has risen through the ranks and was confirmed as the Director for the Engineering Division in January 2024. In this role, he has led teams to plan, administer, manage, license, and monitor radio frequency spectrum for telecommunications and broadcasting services in Ghana. He has also served as Chairman of the Significant Market Power (SMP) Operations Team.

Rev. Ing. Fianko has chaired and also served as a member of several Technical and Regulatory Committees that have shaped industry standards, guidelines, and procedures. Internationally, he has played a significant role in organizations such as the African Telecommunication Union (ATU), the Regional African Satellite Communication Organization (RASCOM), the ITU Policy and Regulation Initiative for Digital Africa (PRIDA) and the Economic Commission of West African States (ECOWAS) Commission. His work has also benefited neighbouring countries such as Benin and The Gambia.

Additionally, Rev. Ing. Fianko spearheaded Ghana’s transition from analogue to digital broadcasting and served as Secretary to the Digital Broadcasting Migration Committee (DBMC) from 2010 to 2016. His contributions include developing DTT receiver specifications, which were later adopted as ECOWAS standards.

He holds a first degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), a Masters in Communications Management from Buckinghamshire New University, England, and an MPhil in Applied Business Leadership and Management from Universidad Católica de Murcia, Spain.

Rev. Ing. Fianko is a member of the Ghana Institution of Engineers (GhIE) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). He is also a Minister of the Methodist Church Ghana, a published author, and the founding leader of the evangelistic outreach ministry, Nkwa.Life.

With a proven track record in technology regulation, leadership, and innovation, Rev. Ing. Fianko brings a wealth of experience to the NCA and is expected to lead Ghana’s communication industry into a new era of growth and technological advancement.

His appointment takes effect from 22nd January, 2025 and he succeeds Dr. Joe Anokye, as the Acting Director General of the NCA.

Dr Abel Oluyemisi Bamgbose’s appointment was ratified at the 74th General Assembly of BON which was held in Abuja on Thursday, June 3rd 2021, in accordance with the laid down procedures of the Organisation.

Dr Yemisi Bamgbose started his broadcasting career at the Ogun State Television (OGTV) Abeokuta, where he rose to the position of Assistant General Manager. He was later transferred to the Ogun State Ministry of Information as the Director of Information and Strategy before he was appointed as a Permanent Secretary. He retired from the civil service of Ogun State in 2018. He had equally served in various capacities among which were, National President, Radio, Television, Theatre and Arts Workers Union (RATTAWU) 2008-2016, National Auditor, Nigeria Labour Congress, 2015-2019, Member, African Representative in the Media and Entertainment Union International, 2012-2016 among others. Yemisi Bamgbose holds a Diploma in Mass Communication, University of Lagos, Bachelor of Science Degree(Bsc) Guidance and Counseling, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Masters in Personal Psychology, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Masters in Mass Communication, Babcock University and Doctor of Philosophy, Ph.D Applied Psychology, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye.

K.T. Larnor is a Telecommunications Engineer and regulatory professional with extensive experience in electronic communications regulation, spectrum management, broadcasting, satellite communications, and fixed and space services. He currently serves as Deputy Head of the Fixed and Space Services Unit within the Engineering Division of the National Communications Authority (NCA), Ghana, where he contributes to the regulation and oversight of Fixed and Space Services operations in Ghana. He has worked with the National Communications Authority since 2013 and has progressively gained broad experience in the technical and regulatory aspects of Ghana’s communications sector. His work includes the review and technical assessment of applications for communications authorisations, evaluation of technical and engineering proposals, frequency assignment, spectrum planning and allocation, international frequency coordination, and monitoring and enforcement of authorised spectrum use. K.T. has substantial experience in the regulation and authorisation of FM and television broadcasting services, including the review of applications and technical documentation relating to broadcasting operations, assessment of frequency requirements, and technical analysis in support of the authorisation process. His regulatory work also involves the monitoring of frequency bands used by various electronic communications services to ensure compliance with assigned frequencies and applicable regulatory requirements. A key component of his work has been radio frequency monitoring and the investigation and resolution of harmful interference. He has participated in monitoring activities covering a range of communications services, including FM and television broadcasting, GSM, maritime, aeronautical and land mobile services, and has undertaken technical investigations to identify sources of interference and support their resolution. His earlier work at the NCA also included research, technical reporting and the development and maintenance of regulatory databases for satellite stations and Internet Service Providers. In his current role, K.T. is also involved in the regulation of Internet/Public Data Services, satellite communications, amateur radio, aeronautical and maritime communications, as well as the management and maintenance of fixed and mobile spectrum monitoring infrastructure.

James Gardiner is a Creative Arts professional who has built a respected career in Ghana’s film and entertainment industry as an actor and currently the Deputy Head of the National Film Authority. Gardiner began his acting career in the mid 2000’s and has since become known for his versatility and compelling performances across Ghanaian and other African Productions.

In February 2025, President John Dramani Mahama appointed James Gardiner as Deputy Executive Secretary of the National Film Authority (NFA). In this role, he works with the Authority’s leadership and industry stakeholders to support the development, promotion and growth of Ghana’s film sector.

I am a Broadcast Technology Executive, Broadcast Engineer, Systems Integrator, and Multimedia Specialist with more than two decades of experience leading technology-driven initiatives across broadcasting, live production, audio-visual integration, and media operations.

My professional journey began in live sound engineering and systems integration, where I designed and implemented audio-visual solutions for corporate organisations, hospitality facilities, educational institutions, and churches. As a live sound engineer, I had the privilege of supporting productions involving some of Ghana’s most respected gospel music artists and organisations.

Over the years, I transitioned into broadcast engineering and media leadership, successfully designing and commissioning television studios, production control rooms, master control facilities, monitoring centres, transmission systems, and outside broadcast operations.

Today, as Head of Technical at Channel One TV, I provide strategic leadership for technical operations, broadcast engineering, production systems, infrastructure development, and technology transformation initiatives. My role combines engineering excellence, operational leadership, innovation, and people development.

I am a trained journalist with a bias for knowledge acquisition, sharing and personal growth. I started my professional career at Radio Univers (sic), while still a student at the University of Ghana.

From there, I proceeded to Joy FM . Subsequently I was employed at Class FM and now at Starr FM and GHOne TV in Accra where I lead production in the newsroom and also anchor the news. I also Co-Host the Morning “Morning Starr”. Naa Dedei is Passionate, driven, and hardworking, with great interpersonal skills.

Omokhape Samuel Darlington also known as Smile Baba is a Nigerian television and radio host, comedian, singer , television network producer, filmmaker and entrepreneur. He hosts the Smile Time Africa show , an internationally syndicated radio/TV shows that airs throughout the World.

Smile Baba is the founder and CEO of Smile Entertainment Limited, a multimedia production company through which he produces content for radio, television, publishing, the Internet and events.

He owns other businesses like Smile Estates, Lagos Bar, Smile foods and S24stream.

In 2014 Smile Baba created Africa’s first integrated carnival the Ghana Naija Carnival which is aimed at uniting the two countries. With thousands of people in attendance the Ghana Naija Carnival remains Africa’s largest single gathering.

Abel Kouamé, also known as Kan Souffle, has been an associate director at Afrika Toon since 2006 and president of AIFA (the Ivorian Association of Animated Film). For Afrika Toon, he contributed to the production of several commercials and short films .  He is the author of animated feature films, including “Pokou Princess Ashanti” and “Soundiata Keita: The Lion Awakens.” He is also the author of two graphic novels published in Abidjan, “Gbassman” and “The Witches.” Kan Souffle has served as president and/or jury member for festivals and professional markets such as the 2015 Francophone Film Awards, the 2014 Meknes Animation Festival in Morocco, and DISCOP Abidjan (Animation Pitch Competition) in 2016.

Seyram Kodzo Mankra is a governance and institutional leadership professional with over 15 years of experience advising public and private sector organisations across West Africa on board effectiveness, institutional accountability, and stakeholder engagement.

He currently serves as Head of Marketing & External Relations and Acting Head of Secretariat at the Institute of Directors-Ghana (IoD-Ghana), where he provides strategic leadership on board performance evaluations, executive education programmes on governance, sustainability, and risk oversight, and advisory support to senior executives and directors on governance frameworks and institutional accountability.

Over his career, Seyram has facilitated dialogue among a wide range of stakeholders, government institutions, regulators, corporate boards, civil society organisations, and development partners, building a track record of consensus-building on complex and sensitive institutional issues. His professional interests span institutional accountability, environmental, social and governance (ESG) oversight, and strengthening compliance and oversight mechanisms within development institutions, expertise that speaks directly to the governance, regulatory, and accountability challenges facing broadcasters and media institutions across the region.

Prior to his current role, Seyram held senior research and client service leadership roles, including at Millward Brown West Africa and Indago Company Limited, where he managed multi-country research programmes and advised institutional clients on strategy and stakeholder engagement.

He holds a Master of Arts in Organisational Leadership and Governance from the University of Ghana Business School, a Certificate in Corporate Governance from the Institute of Directors-Ghana, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Religion from the University of Ghana. He is a member of the Institute of Directors-Ghana.

Conrad Kakraba is a Communication and Media Consultant with extensive experience in journalism, academia, and strategic public affairs.

He worked as a Newscaster, Editor, and Reporter at Ghana Television (GTV) and was the Founding Executive Director of Truth TV. He served as Director of Media and Public Affairs and a Communication Lecturer at Heritage Christian University. He also taught Communication at GIMPA Business School and the Faculty of Law.

In leadership and advocacy, he served as National President and Communication and Public Relations Manager for United Nations Association of Ghana.

He holds an MA in Journalism and Mass Communication from Sikkim Manipal University (now Academic City University) and a BA in English with Linguistics from University of Ghana.

His work spans media leadership, communication strategy, teaching, and public engagement, with a strong commitment to professional excellence and national development.

With over 6 years in TV, I’ve handled various roles from shaping editorial strategies to negotiating deals, managing budgets, and distributing content to audiences. Working with content from the US, Europe, and Africa has taught me the ins and outs of different platforms and regional nuances.

Based in Dakar, Senegal, I am defining the editorial line and overseeing production for an OTT platform targeting African and Diaspora audiences.
